A boutique hotel in a restored 16th-century palazzo once owned by the Paoli family, first opened as a hotel in 1857 and long frequented by poets, philosophers and artists. It sits in the very heart of Lucca beside Piazza Napoleone, with Roman-era wall foundations and remnants of an old glassblowers' fountain preserved in the cellar.
