A landmark hotel on the Strand overlooking the River Thames, opened in 1889 by Richard D'Oyly Carte as Britain's first purpose-built deluxe hotel. Monet began his Views of the Thames during stays here, and today guests can enjoy the American Bar and the Art Deco dining room of Savoy Grill. The tradition of Kaspar, a carved cat who joins parties of thirteen, continues to this day.
