A historic Art Nouveau palazzo overlooking the Gulf of Palermo, Villa Igiea was acquired by the influential Florio family in 1899 and transformed by architect Ernesto Basile, a pioneer of the Sicilian Liberty style, with tiered gardens and a turreted seafront villa. Restored under Rocco Forte Hotels by design director Olga Polizzi, it is home to the Florio fine-dining restaurant, with Belle Époque interiors and a sweeping sea-view terrace. A panoramic pool set in the gardens and a Mediterranean-inspired spa complete the stay between Palermo and Mount Pellegrino.
